400023-20-1P-Filter-Cartridge.2085.3-1
Product Name: Pleated Filter Cartridge (10 or 20 Inch, Part No. 400023-20-1P)
Description:
This 20-inch replacement water filter cartridge uses a folded membrane (pleated) design, which significantly increases the filtration surface area compared to standard depth filters . This pleated structure provides higher flow rates, lower flow resistance, and greater dirt-holding capacity, extending the cartridge's service life in the low-pressure water supply line . Constructed from polypropylene (PP), the pleated media is resistant to water corrosion and suitable for removing fine sediment and particles before water enters the high-pressure intensifier pump .
Applications:
Primary or secondary sediment filtration in low-pressure water supply lines for high-pressure waterjet cutting machines.
Installation in a compatible 20-inch filter housing upstream of the intensifier pump.
Removal of suspended solids such as fine sand, rust particles, silt, and other insoluble sediments .
Protection of critical high-pressure components (check valves, HP seals, plungers, and the jewel orifice) from abrasive wear and clogging .
Features:
Pleated Construction: Large filtration area (3-5x that of non-pleated types) for high contaminant capacity .
Polypropylene Material: Corrosion-resistant and high chemical compatibility with water and hydraulic fluids .
Standard Length (20"): Compatible with standard 20-inch industrial low-pressure filter housings .
Single-Use Consumable: Designed for periodic replacement and cannot be effectively cleaned for reuse .
High Flow/Low Pressure Drop: The pleated geometry allows for high water flow while maintaining low resistance .
Maintenance:
When to Replace (Failure Diagnosis):
Filter Gauge Indication: Replace immediately if the pressure gauge reads 25 psi or lower while the pump is running .
Scheduled Replacement: Under normal water quality, replace the cartridge every 50-200 hours or as specified by the equipment manual .
Pressure Drop Monitoring: A significant reduction in water flow or a large increase in pressure differential indicates a clogged element.
Visual Inspection: Replace if the cartridge appears heavily discolored (brown/black), coated with sediment, or physically deformed.
Replacement Guidelines:
Full Depressurization: Before any maintenance, fully depressurize the waterjet system and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
Housing Inspection: Clean the filter housing and inspect the housing O-ring for damage or debris .
O-Ring Care: Inspect and replace the housing's main O-ring every two years or immediately if leaking is detected .
Disposable Only: Do not attempt to clean or reuse the pleated filter media; this damages the filtration structure and reduces efficiency.
Record Keeping: Log filter change dates to establish an optimal replacement schedule based on your specific water quality.
