Product ID: 05127584 – Proximity Switch Kit (Piston Position Sensor for Intensifier Pump)

Description:
This component is a proximity switch kit, also known as a piston position sensor or inductive proximity sensor assembly, designed for high-pressure waterjet intensifier pumps . It is an electrical sensing device that detects the end-of-stroke position of the reciprocating hydraulic piston within the intensifier assembly. When the piston approaches the end of its travel, the proximity switch sends a signal to the pilot valve, triggering the hydraulic system to reverse direction and continue the pressure generation cycle .

This kit is designed for use on SL-IV, SL-V, Classic, and OEM intensifier units with horsepower ratings ranging from 15 to 60 HP . The switch is rated for system pressures up to 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar) . Two proximity switches are required per complete intensifier assembly . Alternative or cross-reference part numbers include 20453934, 12596, and 5000051 . The assembly kit cross-reference part number is WK000263 .

Applications:

  • Used in waterjet intensifier pumps to detect the end-of-stroke position of the hydraulic piston

  • Installed on the intensifier frame or cylinder end, positioned to sense the piston or target mechanism as it completes its travel

  • Sends electrical signal to the pilot valve to initiate hydraulic oil flow reversal for continuous pump cycling

  • Suitable for ultra-high pressure waterjet systems operating at 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar)

  • Compatible with SL-IV, SL-V, Classic, and OEM intensifier assemblies

Features:

  • Non-Contact Sensing: Inductive proximity design eliminates mechanical wear, providing long service life and reliable operation under continuous high-cycle conditions

  • Steel Construction: Manufactured from durable steel material for resistance to vibration and harsh waterjet operating environments

  • High-Pressure Rating: Engineered for waterjet systems operating at pressures up to 60,000 PSI (4,137 bar)

  • Complete Kit: Includes the proximity switch sensor and may include mounting hardware such as M6x25mm screws for secure installation

  • OEM Compatibility: Direct replacement part for KMT waterjet systems and compatible with Waterjet Sweden, Multicam, Caretta, TechniJet, and other major brands

  • Weight: Approximately 0.25 kg (0.55 lbs)

Maintenance:

  • Functional Testing: During routine maintenance, verify the switch operates correctly by monitoring the control system signal or LED indicator (if present) as the piston cycles

  • Position Verification: Ensure the sensor is correctly positioned at the proper distance from the target piston or sensing mechanism. Incorrect air gap may cause missed signals or false triggering

  • Cleaning: Keep the sensor face clean and free from metallic debris, hydraulic fluid residue, or abrasive dust that could reduce sensing range or cause false readings

  • Cable Inspection: Inspect the sensor cable and connector for cuts, abrasion, moisture ingress, corrosion, or loose connections; repair or replace as needed

  • Mounting Hardware Check: Verify that mounting screws (e.g., M6x25mm) are secure and that the sensor remains properly aligned

  • Replacement Criteria: Replace the proximity switch kit if the sensor fails to detect the piston consistently, if the LED fails to illuminate when the target is present, if the sensor housing is cracked or damaged, or if the cable is damaged beyond repair

  • Full Depressurization: Before removing or replacing the proximity switch, fully depressurize the waterjet system (both hydraulic and high-pressure water circuits), disconnect electrical power, and follow lockout/tagout procedures

  • Proper Sealing: When installing a replacement, ensure the sensor is properly seated and any sealing washers or O-rings are in good condition to prevent moisture ingress

  • Spacer Note: The proximity switch may be used in conjunction with a spacer (e.g., Product ID 05144183) that positions the sensor correctly relative to the piston. If this spacer is lost or damaged, proper sensor operation may be affected
