301003-1-intensifier.300.3-1
Product Name: Short Block Intensifier, 60,000 PSI (Part No. 301003-1)
Description:
The Short Block Intensifier 301003-1 is a complete, fully assembled high-pressure pump core for 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar) waterjet cutting systems . This assembly serves as the primary pressure-generating unit, converting low-pressure hydraulic power into an ultra-high-pressure water stream .
The intensifier operates by using a large hydraulic piston to drive a smaller ceramic plunger. This difference in surface area multiplies the input pressure (typically 1,500–5,000 PSI hydraulic pressure) to the output water pressure of 60,000 PSI . The intensifier assembly integrates the hydraulic cylinder, high-pressure cylinder, dual-end check valves (inlet/outlet), end bells, tie rods, and all critical sealing components into a ready-to-install unit .
Applications:
Serves as the core high-pressure pump component for 60,000 PSI waterjet cutting systems
Converts hydraulic oil power into ultra-high-pressure water for precision cutting
Suitable for both 3-axis and 5-axis waterjet cutting machines
Compatible with 15 GPM flow rate configurations and standard 60k intensifier systems
Features:
Complete Assembly: The "Short Block" designation indicates this is a fully assembled intensifier core, including hydraulic cylinder, high-pressure cylinder, end bells (both left and right), tie rods, seals, and check valve components
60,000 PSI Rating: Engineered for continuous ultra-high-pressure waterjet operation
Hydraulic/Pressure Amplification: Utilizes area-ratio design to multiply low hydraulic pressure to ultra-high water pressure
Dual Check Valve System: Integrated inlet (low-pressure) and outlet (high-pressure) check valves for controlled unidirectional water flow
Cross-Compatibility: Direct OEM replacement for H2O Jet systems; compatible with KMT/AccuStream and FLOW configurations
Maintenance:
Intensifier Assembly Fixture (Critical)
When disassembling the intensifier for seal replacement, an intensifier assembly fixture MUST be used. This fixture ensures the end bells remain properly squared (aligned) during the assembly process, preventing O-ring damage and future oil leakage . Misaligned end bells during reassembly result in oil manifold leakage and potential component breakage.
Torque Specification
When reassembling the intensifier, tighten the four tie rod nuts in a crossing pattern to 160 Nm (120 ft-lbs) .
Proximity Switch Reinstallation
After servicing, always reinstall and tighten the proximity switches. Failure to do so will result in considerable spraying of hydraulic oil during operation .
End Bell Inspection
During intensifier overhaul, inspect the end bells (left and right) for cracks, thread damage, corrosion, or sealing surface damage. Replace immediately if any damage is detected. Do not attempt to repair cracked end bells .
Component Life Expectancy
High Pressure Seals: Typical service life of 3-5 months under normal operating conditions. Replace when water leakage is observed from weep holes or when cutting pressure drops significantly .
Oil Seals: Generally work six months to one year, depending on water and oil quality. Replace when oil leaking from end bell inspection holes .
Check Valves: KMT recommends servicing check valves every 1,500 hours on a preventive schedule. Replace seat, spring, and poppet as a set .
Safety Precautions
Full Depressurization (Critical): Before any maintenance, fully depressurize the waterjet system, place the main electrical disconnect in the OFF position, bleed down all high-pressure lines, and follow lockout/tagout procedures .
High Pressure Water Leaks: High pressure water leaks can cause major damage to anything in their path. Always repair any leaks immediately .
