Product Name: Cartridge Seal Kit / Rod Oil Seal Kit (15 GPM, 60K) – Part No. 302045-1

Description:
This component is a complete cartridge-style seal kit, specifically designed for the rod oil seal assembly in 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar) waterjet intensifier pumps with a flow rating of 15 GPM . It is a pre-assembled unit containing the critical dynamic sealing elements required to prevent high-pressure water from leaking past the reciprocating plunger rod and to isolate the hydraulic oil circuit from the water section . This "cartridge" design allows for drop-in replacement, simplifying maintenance and ensuring correct seal orientation .

The kit includes all necessary rod seals, oil seals, O-rings, and backup rings constructed from wear-resistant polyurethane, PTFE, and high-durometer elastomers . These materials are specifically formulated to endure high-cycle operation, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to both water and hydraulic fluid. It is a critical maintenance component for keeping the pump's hydraulic end sealed and operating efficiently .

Applications:

  • Replaces the rod seal and oil seal cartridge in the hydraulic end of a 15 GPM, 60K waterjet intensifier pump

  • Prevents hydraulic oil from leaking into the high-pressure water system and vice versa

  • Used during scheduled preventive maintenance or when external leakage from the pump weep hole is detected

  • Compatible with major waterjet brands including KMT, AccuStream, H2O Jet, and FLOW

Features:

  • Cartridge-Style Assembly: Pre-assembled unit for quick, one-piece installation, eliminating the risk of misaligning individual seals

  • 15 GPM & 60K Rated: Specifically engineered for the flow and pressure demands of a 15 GPM system operating at 60,000 PSI

  • Complete Seal Set: Contains all rod seals, oil seals, O-rings, and backup rings necessary for a full overhaul

  • Wear-Resistant Materials: Premium polyurethane and elastomer compounds ensure long service life under extreme pressure cycles

  • Direct OEM Replacement: Meets or exceeds original manufacturer specifications for fit and performance

Maintenance:

When to Replace (Failure Diagnosis) :

  • External Leakage: Visible hydraulic oil or water weeping from the pump's weep hole or the joint between the hydraulic cylinder and high-pressure cylinder

  • Hydraulic Oil Contamination: Milky or discolored hydraulic oil indicates the rod seal has failed and water is entering the oil system

  • Pressure Fluctuations: Inability to maintain stable cutting pressure or erratic intensifier cycling can be caused by seal failure

  • Scheduled Overhaul: Manufacturers recommend replacing the rod seal cartridge at regular intervals (e.g., every 1,500 operating hours) as a preventive measure

Replacement Guidelines :

  • Full Depressurization (Critical) : Before any maintenance, fully depressurize the waterjet system, shut off the hydraulic power unit, and follow lockout/tagout procedures

  • One-Piece Replacement: Remove the old seal cartridge as a unit. Clean the seal cavity thoroughly before installing the new cartridge

  • Lubrication: Apply a thin, even layer of manufacturer-recommended high-pressure grease (e.g., "Goop") to the seal lips and outer diameter during installation to prevent dry start-up

  • Torque Compliance: When reassembling the retaining gland or cylinder head, tighten to the specific torque value listed in the equipment service manual

  • Inspect the Plunger Rod: Before installing the new cartridge, inspect the plunger rod surface for scoring, nicks, or pitting. A damaged rod will rapidly destroy a new seal and must be polished or replaced

  • Use a Seal Installation Tool: To protect the new seals from sharp threads or edges, always use a dedicated seal installation tool (sleeve) to guide the cartridge into the housing
