Details

Product ID: 05076955

Description:
This component is a wear insert designed for use within the Autoline™ I abrasive waterjet cutting head system. It is a cylindrical, sacrificial component that fits inside the mixing chamber (nozzle body, Product ID 05073820). The wear insert protects the more expensive nozzle body from erosion caused by the high-velocity mixture of water and abrasive garnet .

Applications:

  • Used as a replaceable liner inside the mixing chamber of Autoline™ I abrasive waterjet cutting heads .

  • Installed directly into the nozzle body bore (Product ID 05073820) to absorb abrasive erosion during cutting .

  • Suitable for ultra-high pressure waterjet systems operating at 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar) .

Features:

  • Manufactured from ultra-hard, wear-resistant material such as tungsten carbide or ceramic to withstand extreme erosive conditions .

  • Precision-ground outer diameter ensures a proper, snug fit within the corresponding nozzle body bore .

  • Precision-machined internal bore (mixing chamber geometry) is engineered for optimal mixing of water and abrasive particles to maximize cutting efficiency .

  • Designed as a sacrificial consumable; the wear insert is intended to erode over time while preserving the more expensive nozzle body .

  • Engineered specifically for the Autoline™ I self-aligning cutting head system, ensuring correct alignment between the orifice, mixing chamber, and focusing tube .

Maintenance:

  • During cutting head overhaul, remove the wear insert from the nozzle body for inspection .

  • Inspect the internal bore of the wear insert for signs of erosion, diameter enlargement, ovality, cracking, or flaking .

  • Replace the wear insert when visible erosion is present, when cutting performance degrades, or at scheduled preventive maintenance intervals .

  • Do not attempt to reuse a worn or eroded wear insert; erosion of the insert will negatively affect mixing efficiency and cut quality .

  • Before installing a new wear insert, thoroughly clean the nozzle body bore to remove any debris, old abrasive particles, or residue .

  • Ensure the new wear insert is seated fully and squarely within the nozzle body before reassembling the cutting head .

  • Always replace the wear insert when replacing the focusing tube (mixing tube) to ensure optimal system performance .

  • Store spare wear inserts in a clean, dry environment in protective packaging to prevent edge chipping or surface damage before use .
