20453964-Feed-Tube-Assembly.776.3-1
Product ID: 20453964 – Feed Tube Assembly (Abrasive Feed Tube for Autoline® II)
Description:
This component is a feed tube assembly, specifically the abrasive feed tube, designed for Autoline® II abrasive waterjet cutting head systems. It is a precision component that delivers abrasive garnet particles from the abrasive hopper and metering system into the mixing chamber of the cutting head, where the abrasive combines with the ultra-high-pressure waterjet to create the cutting stream.
Applications:
Used in Autoline® II abrasive waterjet cutting heads to convey dry abrasive particles into the mixing chamber.
Installed into the side port of the Autoline II cutting head body, positioned at an optimized angle for abrasive entry.
Suitable for ultra-high pressure waterjet systems operating at 60,000 PSI to 90,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar to 6,200 bar).
Features:
Constructed from wear-resistant cemented carbide (tungsten carbide) to withstand the erosive nature of high-velocity abrasive particles.
Engineered with a precise internal bore diameter optimized for consistent abrasive flow rate without blockage.
Features a 30-degree entry angle design (or as specified for Autoline II) to direct abrasive smoothly into the mixing chamber, reducing turbulence and optimizing mixing efficiency.
Includes sealing components (O-rings) to prevent abrasive leakage and air ingress at the connection point to the cutting head body.
Designed for tool-free maintenance, allowing rapid removal and replacement without special tools.
Color-coded or labeled for easy identification of compatible orifice and mixing tube sizes.
Maintenance:
Fully depressurize the waterjet system and follow lockout/tagout procedures before servicing the feed tube assembly.
During cutting head maintenance, remove the feed tube assembly from the side port of the cutting head body.
Inspect the internal bore for signs of erosion, wear, or diameter enlargement caused by abrasive particle flow over time.
Inspect the tube ends for wear, chipping, or cracking, especially at the tip that enters the mixing chamber.
Check all O-rings and sealing surfaces for damage, wear, or deterioration; replace seals with each reassembly.
Clean the feed tube assembly by blowing compressed air through the bore to remove any compacted abrasive or debris; do not use metal tools or wires that could damage the internal bore surface.
Replace the feed tube assembly if internal bore erosion exceeds manufacturer-specified limits, if the tube is cracked or chipped, or if abrasive flow becomes inconsistent.
When reinstalling, apply manufacturer-recommended grease to O-rings to ensure proper sealing and prevent damage during insertion.
Ensure the feed tube is fully seated in the cutting head body and that the retaining mechanism (e.g., thumbscrew, clamp, or retaining ring) is properly secured.
After reassembly, slowly pressurize the abrasive system and verify consistent abrasive flow to the cutting head.
During routine maintenance, inspect the feed tube for wear whenever the wear insert or focusing tube is replaced.
