10118552 Retainer Poppet
Product ID: 10118552 – Poppet Retainer (Old Style / SL-IV Inlet Check Valve Retainer)
Description:
This component is a poppet retainer, specifically an old style inlet check valve retainer used in waterjet intensifier pump sealing heads . It is a precision-machined cylindrical component that secures and positions the inlet poppet (valve stem) within the inlet check valve assembly of the sealing head. The poppet retainer ensures proper alignment and movement of the inlet poppet during the intake stroke .
This component is manufactured by AccuStream (KMT Waterjet Systems) under OEM part number 10118552 . It is also cross-referenced under production number 1-11314 . This poppet retainer is specifically designed for SL-IV series intensifier pumps .
Applications:
Used to retain and guide the inlet poppet (inlet check valve stem) within the sealing head (check valve assembly) of waterjet intensifier pumps
Installed in the inlet check valve bore of the sealing head body, seating against the inlet valve components
Specifically compatible with SL-IV series waterjet intensifier pumps
Rated for 60,000 PSI operation but specifically for older style sealing head designs
Features:
Precision-Machined Construction: Manufactured to exact OEM specifications for proper fit within the sealing head inlet bore
Old Style Design: This is the older version poppet retainer; the standard replacement version for 60ksi systems is part number 05144670
Inlet Poppet Compatibility: Works with inlet poppet 05144662 (60ksi rated)
Steel Construction: Manufactured from durable steel for wear resistance and long service life
Cross-Reference Compatibility: Replaces OEM KMT part number 10118552; also cross-referenced as 1-11314
Limitation / Compatibility Note:
The old style poppet retainer (10118552) cannot be used as a direct replacement for the standard 60ksi poppet retainer (05144670) . When servicing 60ksi rated pumps, use the standard poppet retainer (05144670) which works with both inlet poppets. The old style retainer is specific to older SL-IV design configurations.
Maintenance:
Inspection: During sealing head overhaul, inspect the poppet retainer for signs of wear, scoring, deformation, or corrosion. Check the internal bore where the poppet slides for any damage
Replacement Criteria: Replace if any visible wear, scoring, or deformation is detected. Worn retainers can cause poppet misalignment, leading to poor sealing and pressure loss
Torque Compliance: When installing, use a flat blade screwdriver to tighten the poppet retainer to torque specifications in the equipment service manual
Movement Verification: After installation, ensure the poppet moves freely and the poppet retainer is seated against the sealing head
Full Depressurization: Always fully depressurize both the hydraulic system and the high-pressure water system before removing or servicing the poppet retainer. Follow lockout/tagout procedures
Set Replacement: When servicing the inlet check valve, it is recommended to replace the inlet poppet (05144662 or 10107894) simultaneously with the poppet retainer for optimal performance
