Details

Product Name: APW Three-Way Stop Valve

Description:
This component is a three-way stop valve, also known as a three-way shut-off valve or high-pressure tee valve, designed for waterjet cutting systems . It is a precision-machined control valve that directs or diverts the flow of high-pressure water within the system plumbing. The valve features three ports—typically one inlet and two outlets, or two inlets and one outlet—allowing the operator to stop flow entirely or redirect flow between different paths . Constructed from high-strength stainless steel, it is rated for ultra-high pressure operation.

Applications:

  • Directs high-pressure water flow between multiple cutting heads or system branches

  • Installed as a shut-off point for maintenance isolation or emergency flow stoppage

  • Suitable for ultra-high pressure waterjet systems operating at 40,000–60,000 PSI (approximately 2,800–4,137 bar)

  • Used in both pure water and abrasive waterjet systems

Features:

  • Three-Port Design: Allows flow to be selectively stopped or redirected between three connection points

  • High-Strength Stainless Steel Construction: Provides corrosion resistance and structural integrity under extreme pressure cycling

  • Precision Sealing Surfaces: Machined to tight tolerances for leak-free shut-off

  • Manual or Pneumatic Operation: Available in configurations for manual handle operation or pneumatic actuator control

Maintenance:

  • Inspect for Leakage: Regularly check all ports and the valve stem for high-pressure water weepage or external leakage. Replace seals if leakage is detected.

  • Thread Care: When disassembling, inspect all port threads for damage, galling, or corrosion. Damaged threads can cause high-pressure leaks.

  • Seal Replacement: Replace valve stem seals and port O-rings as a set during valve overhaul. Do not reuse old seals.

  • Smooth Operation Check: Ensure manual handle or pneumatic actuator moves freely through full range. Binding indicates internal wear or debris.

  • Full Depressurization: Always fully depressurize the waterjet system and follow lockout/tagout procedures before servicing the valve.

  • Replacement Criteria: Replace the valve body if cracks, severe internal erosion, or thread damage is detected.
