Product ID: 20427739 – Pneumatic Valve Actuator Assembly / Dump Valve Assembly (Normally Open)

Description:
This component is a pneumatic valve actuator assembly, configured as a normally open (NO) 3-port round pneumatic dump valve assembly for high-pressure waterjet cutting systems . It serves as a critical safety and control device that converts compressed air energy into linear mechanical motion to actuate the dump valve, providing rapid pressure release from the waterjet system .

As a normally open assembly, the valve remains open when no pneumatic pressure is applied, allowing high-pressure water to flow to the cutting head. When compressed air is supplied, the valve closes, instantly dumping high-pressure water from the system as a safety function .

This assembly is specifically designed for 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar) waterjet systems and is compatible with KMT SL-V series intensifier pumps .

Applications:

  • Used as the primary dump valve assembly on 60,000 PSI waterjet cutting systems for emergency pressure relief and controlled water flow shutoff

  • Installed between the intensifier pump outlet and the cutting head to enable rapid pressure bleed-down during emergency stops, program pauses, or tool changes

  • Suitable for ultra-high pressure waterjet systems operating at 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar)

  • Compatible with KMT SL-V series (including SL-V50) intensifier pumps and other standard waterjet systems

Features:

  • Normally Open Configuration: Default state is open; pneumatic pressure is required to close the valve, ensuring water flow stops only when air pressure is applied

  • 3-Port Round Design: Features two side ports with 3/8" 60K HP connections and standard air intake with 1/8-27 NPT right-hand thread

  • 60,000 PSI Pressure Rating: Engineered for continuous ultra-high pressure operation (4,137 bar)

  • Pneumatic Control: Operates on standard plant air supply of 75-125 PSIG (approximately 5.2-8.6 bar)

  • Complete Assembly: Pre-assembled unit ready for drop-in replacement

  • Product Weight: Approximately 5.211 lbs (2.36 kg)

  • Cross-Reference Part Numbers: Replaces OEM numbers including KMT 20427739, WK000167, and 10138824

Maintenance:

  • Critical Safety Component: The dump valve assembly is a safety device designed to instantly release high pressure from the system. Proper maintenance is imperative to prevent potential injury

  • Full Depressurization (Critical): Before servicing the valve assembly, disconnect and lockout the main power supply. Ensure that all high-pressure water and hydraulic pressure has been bled from the system. Also shut off and vent the compressed air supply. Severe injury can result if the machine is not properly locked out

  • Routine Inspection: Periodically inspect the actuator assembly for signs of wear, external air leakage, corrosion, or physical damage

  • Air Supply Quality: Ensure clean, dry, lubricated compressed air is supplied at 75-125 PSIG. Contaminated air can cause internal corrosion or seal degradation

  • Functional Testing: After reassembly, slowly pressurize the system and test the dump valve function repeatedly to ensure complete water flow stoppage when closed and no leakage when closed

  • Seal Inspection: When servicing the actuator, inspect internal seals for wear or deterioration. Replace seals as part of scheduled preventive maintenance

  • Electrical Connections: Verify the solenoid valve (if equipped) operates correctly at the specified voltage. Check electrical connections for corrosion or loose terminals

  • Component Note: This dump valve assembly is listed as item 1 in complete intensifier parts diagrams, with quantity of 1 per intensifier assembly

  • Replacement Criteria: Replace the actuator assembly if it fails to actuate despite correct air supply signal, if external air leakage is present, if the piston is seized, or if visible damage to the housing is detected

  • Torque Compliance: When reinstalling, tighten all connections to the specific torque values listed in the equipment service manual
