Product ID: 05078712 – Focus Tube Retainer (for Autoline™ I Cutting Head Assembly)

Description:
This component is a focus tube retainer, also known as a focusing tube retainer or mixing tube retainer, designed specifically for the Autoline™ I abrasive waterjet cutting head assembly. It is a threaded retaining nut or collar that secures the focusing tube (mixing tube) within the lower portion of the cutting head assembly, ensuring proper alignment and retention during high-pressure operation.

Applications:

  • Used to secure and retain the focusing tube (mixing tube) within the Autoline™ I cutting head assembly.

  • Installed at the lower end of the cutting head, directly below the mixing chamber and wear insert.

  • Suitable for ultra-high pressure waterjet systems operating at 60,000 PSI (approximately 4,137 bar) and compatible with Autoline I series focusing tubes.

Features:

  • Constructed from high-strength, corrosion-resistant material such as hardened stainless steel to withstand high-pressure operation and repeated tightening cycles.

  • Precision-machined threads for proper fit with the Autoline I nozzle body or lower housing assembly.

  • Designed with wrench flats or a hex profile for reliable torquing during assembly and maintenance.

  • Engineered to provide proper compression and sealing for the focusing tube against the wear insert and mixing chamber.

  • Self-aligning design consistent with the Autoline I series ensures correct alignment between the orifice, mixing chamber, and focusing tube.

  • Compact profile allows for installation in the confined space at the bottom of the cutting head assembly.

Maintenance:

  • Fully depressurize the waterjet system and follow lockout/tagout procedures before removing the focus tube retainer.

  • During disassembly, use the correct size wrench on the retainer's wrench flats; do not use pipe wrenches or pliers that may damage the retainer surfaces.

  • Clean the retainer threads and mating surfaces thoroughly during each service to remove debris, old seal material, or abrasive particles.

  • Inspect threads for signs of wear, galling, corrosion, or deformation; replace the retainer if any damage is found.

  • Check the wrench flats for rounding or damage; damaged driving surfaces can lead to improper torque application.

  • Inspect the internal seating surface that contacts the focusing tube for wear, erosion, or damage.

  • Apply a thin layer of high-pressure compatible lubricant or anti-seize compound to threads before reassembly as specified by the equipment manufacturer.

  • When installing a new focusing tube, ensure the tube is fully seated in the retainer and against the wear insert before tightening.

  • Tighten the focus tube retainer to the specific torque value listed in the equipment service manual; over-tightening may crack the focusing tube or damage threads, while under-tightening may cause leaks or misalignment.

  • Replace the focus tube retainer if threads are damaged, if wrench flats are rounded, or if cracks are detected.

  • During routine cutting head maintenance, inspect the retainer for wear and replace if necessary.
